Hello,
We have been working with the MyotonPRO for a couple of months. Recently, we noticed that the probe is not centered within the plastic ring that lights up during measurement. When the probe is ejected, it does not touch the ring but when it returns, it looks as if it touches the plastic ring itself. I do not think this should be the case but wanted to make sure. If it is an issue, how can we fix it? I already tried removing and re-inserting the probe, following manual instructions but no change to the probe location in the ejected or the "housed" position.
Dear Joel,
Thank you for your message and for your careful observation.
Due to the design of the measurement mechanism, the probe is centered within the opening only in the measurement position, that is, when a measurement is being executed.
When the probe is either fully retracted or fully extended, it is normal for it to appear slightly offset from the center of the opening, towards the left. This is intentional by design and does not affect the accuracy or reliability of the measurements.
The system measurement position is also indicated by the green probe marker. The range of the measurement position corresponds to the width of this marker, which is 3 mm. The probe is centered within the opening exactly at the midpoint of the measurement position, when half of the marker is inside the opening and half remains visible.
Therefore, what you observe is expected and does not require any correction.
Best regards,
Myoton support
